Quinton Larion

Quinton Larion is an active music educator, teaching 7-12th grade Band and Choir at Beaverton Jr./Sr. High School.  He is a graduate of Saginaw Valley State University.  There, he served as Drum Major of the Cardinal Marching Band, as well as performed in many other ensembles, including the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, and the Cardinal Brass Quintet.  Prior to SVSU, Quinton graduated from Harrison Community High School in Harrison, MI.  He has also been a regular member of the Mid-Michigan Brass Band since 2016, playing solo cornet, principle cornet and guest conducting. 

  

Quinton has studied trumpet with Dr. Eduardo Farias, Patrick Oliverio, and Jacinda Ripley, conducting with Dr. Norman Wika and Dr. Kevin Simons, and jazz improv with Chris Glassman.  He has also participated in masterclasses with many esteemed brass musicians, including Vincent DiMartino, Sam Huss, Kris Johnson, and Dr. Jesse Cook.  Quinton has also attended and studied at the Brevard Music Center’s 2021 Jazz Institute. 

  

In his free time, Quinton enjoys spending quality time with his girlfriend Demi, watching their favorite TV shows and movies together.  He also enjoys playing all types of video and tabletop games.  Quinton is an avid reader, collector of comic books and graphic novels, and loves escaping into a good story.  This year, he is looking forward to making it through all the challenges of being a new teacher and making the best music possible along the way!
